Hidden: Animals in the Anthropocene

“Hidden” is a passion project by Jo-Anne McArthur, leader of We Animals Media, an animals rights advocacy group based in Canada. She teamed up with author/editor Keith Wilson (who also worked on “Photographers Against Wildlife Crime”) to produce an unflinching look at the work by over 40 photographers who have documented the horrors facing domesticated food-stock animals. Having Joaquin Phoenix write the intro was awesome. To blow my own horn: I came up with the title, which worked when it was partially obscured by running it around onto the spine.

“Hidden” was named “Photography Book of the Year” by Pictures of the Year International. Sweet!
