Inside the Curve
This is a compilation of photography documentation of the pandemic supported by the National Geographic Society (the non-profit half of NG, but published by NG Books. Don’t try to figure it out!). It grew from an exhibit curated by Claudi Carreras, but this adds more recent coverages. Claudi was super easy to work with, and though I’m not sure what he would say, my experience is that we “clicked.” He had it well organized, gave plenty of options, and once we had it built there were only minor and reasonable modifications. The design drew from the typography and color palette of the exhibit. One editor thought this was too depressing of a topic (based on the understandable need for sales), but I’m so glad the Society both funded this work and then followed through with this worthy visual history.
